Every Friday, 1-2:30 pm, you can enjoy Penny Bingo. We play seven games. You need 28 pennies. The cover-all prizes are donated by Floral Depot. Come join in the fun!
Tuesday nights from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. you can enjoy dancing and singing to country music from its traditional roots to contemporary styling. This is a great place for socialization and chances to meet new friends. Food and snack concessions are available. The CLIO CITY LIMITS BAND performs the 1st, 3rd, and 5th Tuesday of the month with DJ Doc playing on the 2nd and 4th Tuesday. Entry is $5.00 at the door.
Join us for this interactive workout set to music. You’ll get a full cardio workout and enjoy yourself all at the same time. Classes are Monday mornings at 11:00 and Thursday evenings at 6:30. Each session is 1 hour and costs $5.00. $2.00 discounts are offered if you have your own equipment. Equipment is available for purchase at the Center.
Join our group on the First Tuesday of the month at 10:00 as we make lap blankets, with objects to manipulate, for Alzheimer’s patients. We add zippers to zip, velcro to pull apart, pockets to put things in, and other options to engage the mind. Blankets are then donated to needy patients.
Flint Rock and Gem Club
The Flint Rock and Gem Club meets the third Thursday each month at the Senior Center. This group explores a variety of avenues of the Lapidary Arts, including; stone cutting and polishing, jewelry making, and collecting gems.
Hand and Foot Card Game
This card game is a variation of Canasta. Groups meet every Monday from 5:00 – 8:00 p.m.
A Jigsaw Puzzle is always available in the Game Room. Come work on one here or take one home!
Line Dancing for Beginners
Come and join other interested, novice dancers and learn the steps to the art of line dancing. This group meets each Monday and Wednesday at 12:30.
Come and enjoy this lively group as they dance and exercise to some of country music’s most exciting tunes. Mondays and Wednesdays at 1:30 p.m. – 3:30 pm
Our library has books available to read, exchange, or purchase. Hard Cover Books, Books on Cassettes, VCR tapes & DVD’s are only $1.00, paperbacks are $.25 each. Our volunteer Librarians will keep the shelves organized and up-to-date. You may request your favorite book/author and we will call you when it becomes available. New books arrive weekly.
Open Computer Lab
The computer lab is open during our normal business hours (8:30am until 4:15pm Monday through Friday). Check e-mail, explore the internet, or come in and use a computer. Volunteer assistance is available on Monday morning, Tuesday and Thursday afternoons by appointment. You are encouraged to bring your own systems (IPADS, NOOKS and KINDLES, etc.) to your class. Please review the computer use policy posted in the computer room and please sign in. Wireless internet (Wi-Fi) is available here!
Open Craft Sessions
On most days the craft room is available for individual or group projects. Check the newsletter or calendar to see if there is something scheduled that you would like to join or bring your projects, patterns, and/or ideas to share. Ready-made Craft items and supplies may be purchased. We are always looking for members to teach a class. If interested, please contact CASC.
Join the fastest growing exercise craze among the 50+ crowd. Pickleball is a racquet sport that combines elements of badminton, tennis, and table tennis. We play three times each week: Monday morning at 9:00, Wednesday evening at 6:00 and Thursday afternoon at 3:30. Bring a friend and come for some exercise and socialization.
Pickleball for Beginners.
If you are curious about playing pickleball but have yet to experience it, come and learn to play! Instruction is each Tuesday morning at 10:00. No equipment necessary. Bring a friend and have a great time while getting some exercise.
Come join our talented quilters on the first and third Tuesdays of each month. We do both traditional quilting and UGLI quilts. UGLI quilts are donated to the homeless shelters of Genesee County.
Do you like to bowl? Don’t like lifting the heavy ball? Then this game is for you! What a great way to get in shape for the golf season, actually, for any season! There are several other games to try. Come try out this fun activity!
Sit & Stitch
Join us each Wednesday afternoon as we gather to work on various needle-type crafts. Some sew, some crochet, while others knit or cross-stitch – there is something for everyone! Bring a friend and join the group.
Every Wednesday morning at 9:00 a.m. you can enjoy visiting and carving with the woodcarvers. If you’d like to learn, they will help you get started. If you are already a carver, bring along your current project.
Yoga – Stretch & Chair
If you have difficulty getting on the floor, join us Thursdays at 9:00 am for Chair Yoga. However, if you are more limber and can get down and up from the floor, bring a mat and join us for stretching exercises on Thursdays at 10:00. These 45 minute routines will help keep you limber. $3.00 charge for the classes or you can purchase a $30 pass for 12 sessions.
Additional classes are offered on Tuesday evenings. Join Instructor Judy as she leads a GENTLE YOGA class at 5:00 and a MODERATE YOGA class at 6:15. Cost is $3.00 for each class. Passes are not accepted for these sessions.
